A former Dyersburg High School teacher pleaded guilty to raping a student.
John Mark Moody pleaded guilty to aggravated statutory rape and filing a false report, according to Dyer County Circuit Court.
Moody was suspended from his teaching position on March 5. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation later investigated and charged him with tampering with evidence, coercion of a witness, solicitation of a minor, and solicitation of statutory rape by an authority figure.
Moody was sentenced to one year in jail and three years of supervised probation. He must also register as a sex offender for 10 years
