SHOUTS OUT TO WILL SMITH! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRESH PRINCE!

I know, I know…all the rumors about Will and Jada breaking up are all over the place…but not here at The Heat Magazine. At least not today, lol. Today we just want to celebrate the day this great entertainer came into this world. Happy 43rd Willard Christopher, “Will Smith”, Jr!

At the age of seventeen this young rising star began his career as MC of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff; whose name is actually, Jeffrey “DJ Jazzy Jeff” Townes, and The Fresh Prince. The duo added Ready Rock C (Clarence Holmes) as the human beat box. The three of them became a perfect mix and match team. The single that made the crew a household name was “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and then they would follow with “Summertime”. They won the first Grammy awarded in 1988 in the Rap category. Later Smith would follow with one of the hottest get up and dance tunes, “Getting Jiggy With It”, my personal all time favorite.

It was 1990 when Smith burst into the homes of many Americans with his acclaimed television sitcom, “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. The sitcom stayed on the airwaves for six years, rounding out in 1996. After that Smith’s career skyrocketed to out-of-space. Smith is the only actor to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million in the domestic box office. He also is the only actor to have eight consecutive films, staring in them, opening at the #1 spot in the domestic box office tally.

Will Smith’s Movie Career is one to frame.
1995 – Present
In 1995 Smith would team up with Martin Lawrence in the box office hit, “Bad Boys”.
In 1996, Smith starred in “Independence Day” with the gorgeous Vivica Fox. The film, at the time, became the second highest paid film in history.
In 1997 Smith would grace the screen in “Men in Black”, with Tommy Lee Jones.
In 1998, Smith starred with Gene Hackman and my girl, Regina King, in “Enemy of the State”.
1n 1999, Smith would bring cowboys and wit to the screen in “Wild, Wild, West” starring with Kevin Kline and Salma Hayek.
Then in 2001 Smith would play the Heavyweight Champion of the World, Muhammad Ali, in “Ali”.
In 2004 he would tease us in a futuristic film called, “I Robot”.
Guinness Book of World Records, in 2005, recognized Smith for attending three premieres in one full day!
Also in 2005 Smith humored us as, Alex “Hitch” Hitchens, starring with Eva Mendes, Kevin James, and Amber Vallette with Hitch’s idea of how any man could have any woman he wanted, he just had to believe he could have her, in the movie “Hitch”.
2006, Smith would win our hearts in the true story of Chris Gardner, the single parent of a 5-year-old son struggling as a salesman to become a great success. The movie, “Pursuit of Happyness” gave so many hope in knowing if you have a desire and a will to succeed, you most definitely can. This was the first movie Will and his son Jaden Smith, would star and co-star together.
2007, Smith starred in the film “I Am Legend”, released December 14, 2007, the largest opening ever in the United States during the Christmas month. Smith himself has said that he considers the film to be “aggressively unique”. His real life daughter, Willow Smith made her movie debut sarring in this movie as “Marley Neville, Smith’s character, Robert Neville’s daughter.
Then in 2008 he would get behind the camera and Produce, “Lakeview Terrace”, starring Samuel L. Jackson, “The Secret Life of Bees” starring, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, and Alicia Keys. And even get back in front of the camera as Ben Thomas in “Seven Pounds”.
In 2010, he’d produce his son’s first box office hit, “The Karate Kid” starring, Jackie Chan, his son, Jaden Smith, and Taraji P. Henson.

Smith is such an amazing actor that President Barack Obama said that if a film were made about his life, he would have Smith play his part, stating, “he has the ears”. I would say to look for it after Obama presidency has reached it’s final term.

In August of this year, 2011, rumors surfaced that Smith had returned to the studio taking producer La Mar Edwards with him. That’s for sure to be a great comeback since La Mar Edwards is known for producing some of the greatest hits.

In 2012 Will Smith’s fans can get ready for “Men in Black III”.

The only thing I’ll say at this time in reference to the gossip of he and Jada breaking up is that Smith has always stood behind the statement he made, “My marriage will last forever”. I believe that.

Will Smith, a true legend in his own way! The Heat Magazine just wanted to say, Happy Birthday and Enjoy it!

Much Love! One Love!
