Music World Entertainment’s new girl trio, BLUSH releases visual to debut single, “Cinderella” featuring Mystikal

Music World Entertainment’s new girl trio, BLUSH releases visual to debut single, “Cinderella” featuring Mystikal. Their new single, “Cinderella” from their debut album, “Old School Back Past, Present, and Future” is currently available in the digital marketplace.

Comprised of Sunni, Tali and Bunni Ray, together they present something indeed fresh, yet reminiscent of favorites like TLC, Destiny’s Child and Salt-N-Pepa. Sunni, a Woodland Hills, California native moved to Houston at age 6 and quickly found a passion in writing rhymes and poetry, while heavily influenced by artists like Mc Lyte, Lauryn Hill and Tupac. Tali, a Houston native, incorporates her Colombian roots throughout her lyrics and style while complementing the rap duo with her vocal prowess. The newest member is Bunni Ray, another Houston native, who synchronizes her fast rhymes with a high-pitched, sassy swagger.

“We’re 90s babies,We’re bringing that old school hip hop back. We’re going to trend set with that.” ~TALI

Now when it comes to rap, many lovers of the genre argue that these times call for something, that is in the best hip-hop vernacular—fresh. Known for introducing uber-talented artists to the music industry, including his own offsprings (Beyonce & Solange), Mathew Knowles prepares to deliver on that order. The music mogul found phenomenal success grooming and managing the mega group Destiny’s Child. Now, he is now handing out mics to BLUSH, a harmonically blended hip-hop and R&B trio (est. 2013) and they are using them to mix fiery rhymes and hooks reminiscent of the 90’s hip-hop era— but with a trendy twist. Their debut album is filled with upbeat and mid-tempo tracks; ones that reveal the sharp versatility of blending two passionate rappers with a sultry, powerhouse vocalist.

It is not often a live band from New Orleans is able to maintain a unique identity and go beyond playing  traditional favorites. The Brass-A-Holics have been able to fuse various genres of music together and develop a style of their own. Refusing to be labeled, the talented group of eclectics are led by feeling and energy received from their fanbase. February 3rd at The House of Blues in New Orleans on Decatur Street, they will embark on a new milestone. The Brass-A-Holics will be recording their sophomore album live.  “We wanted to give our audience the true essence of what we do which is performing live,” said trombonist Winston Turner.

Dappa Surprises Fans With New Mixtape: Rappapalooza

Saturday, January 14th, 2017

Platinum songwriter Dappa surprisingly unleashes new mixtape “Rappapalooza ‘Hot Winter'”.

On the heels of his new video “Motivation” and a compelling “U Name It Challenge” performance on Sheba Turk’s 504 specialty show, Dappa creates feel good music. He hints with an oxymoron “Hot Winter” in the artwork and subtitle for this project.

Descriptive of his style, “Rappapalooza” includes a snowman near the shore of blue waters on the cover but it’s what lives within the graphics that will have fans connecting to the latest offering by the upbeat artist.

The Heat Magazine wanted our readers to hear it first. Dappa jumps in with an urban intro “Fresh Kings” and sets an energetic tone. Transitioning to a nostalgic ” Outchea,” the Fresh Music Group artist performs engaging lyrics and brings us back to carefree days in life over a “Mr. Telephone Man” interpolation.

Dappa stays true to the roots of authentic hip hop on “Give Up The Goods” while sharing bars with Alfred Banks over a classic Mobb Deep composition. Then, Dappa hypes it up for the fellas and ladies on “Bad and the Bourgeoisie” featuring Prince Asim. The witty rapper gains a nod from The Heat Magazine with this consistent product. Moving forward, this creative narrates an eclectic “Blood On My Notepad” with a unique and imagery filled display of lyrical ability.

“Over You” is a grown and sexy favorite as Dappa spits heartfelt lyrics illustrating the ebb and flow within a relationship and he asserts his personal standards as well as self-worth.

The mixtape is sealed with a groovy “1994 (Roxie)”. Dappa soulfully exhibits a myriad of skills. “Don’t play with them boys from New Orleans,” Dappa speaks on New Orleans artists and their ambition. On this particular record, he highlights the necessary mindset needed to realize an accomplished career as an artist.

All in all, the Fresh Music Group emcee delivers a quality over quantity mixtape and rekindles the essence of hip hop. Dappa provides a “lead by example” archetype during a time where the music industry has partially let listeners down with uninspiring releases.

BTY YoungN and GreatWhite Stylez are two of the hottest lyricists out right now. Given their recent co-sign by none other than Birdman himself and affiliation with Rich Gang, the sky is the limit for these two. They stop through to drop off the visuals to “Mac & Brad”, filmed by Free Water.

These highly acclaimed New Orleans, Louisiana rappers are putting in work day in and day out and each have numerous singles and videos. Their social media following is climbing daily and their every move is being followed, especially since media giants have taken to recording their antics.

NEW MUSIC: Jay Jones – “Bad & Boujee Freestyle” (0017th/YM)

Thursday, January 12th, 2017

Jay Jones is one of the most prolific, charismatic and well-rounded lyricists in the game. Artist, songwriter, amateur actor, and successful entrepreneur, there is not much this talent has not accomplished in his young life.

Hailing from Hollygrove, rap’s mecca of unique talent, Jay Jones’ roots are anything but humble. His father is one of the architects of the rap genre and the apple does not fall far from the tree. Growing up, Jay Jones was surrounded by amazing musical talent and it is apparent in his music. This award winning wordsmith is known regionally as a force to be reckoned with – and there are not many who dare challenge him. He’s had a successful solo career, but it’s been his affiliation with 0017th and Young Money that’s helped to get his brand out to the world. 2015 and 2016 were extraordinary years for Jay Jones, with 2017 expected to be another banner year.

He is putting the finishing touches on his EP “Dey Know” and currently in the process of releasing several in-studio visuals, with the first being the “Bad & Boujee Freestyle”.

17 year old New Orleans fashion designer Eric James Sewing Up The Game

Friday, December 23rd, 2016

New Orleans native Eric James, a seventeen year old student at Eleanor McMain Secondary School, decided to enter the entrepreneurial world at an early age. Once a running back at McMain, James has devoted his time into creating the LIVDON and E James brand. Unlike most teens who are totally immersed in wearing fashion, social media, and talking on the cellphone, James grows up rapidly by putting in hours designing and sewing new-wave clothing.

Visit his website http://www.ejamesdesigns.com and support his business.

In the city of New Orleans, it’s real easy to become distracted by the streets and peer pressure. However, James said he learned some valuable advice about staying focused on his passion. “You gotta really do it, no half-steppin’ at all.”

The Heat Magazine wanted to share a story about New Orleans youth attempting to do something positive. Check out the mini-documentary on Eric James directed by Malcolm J Studios here:
