Nappyboy Entertainment artist Sixx Mann holds a kids Nike shoe giveaway

Thursday, September 6th, 2018
SIXX MANN PARTNERS WITH CREATIVE KIDZ MEDIA FOR A KIDS’ NIKE SHOE GIVEWAY

The New Orleans artist/entrepreneur/philanthropist and early childhood education center are collaborating on a shoe giveaway in support of Kids and Nike.

The partnership is in support of Nike and its Believe In Something campaign, along with former NFL superstar/activist/philanthropist Colin Kaepernick. Sixx Mann and Creative Kidz believe that together with courageous figures such as Colin Kaepernick, we can effect positive change across the globe, but especially in the United States of America. Sixx Mann says, “By standing up for what is right and for what is just, we can ensure that our kids have the best future possible. We stand with Colin Kaepernick, Nike and all other positive figures, in showing our support for change. There is no better time than now. We must provide the most level playing field possible so that our kids can excel, whether that is in education or just life itself. We must do something now.” Sixx Mann is very active in his community, often volunteering time and resources to assist children and the elderly, along with disenfranchised individuals seeking direction in improving their respective situations. In addition, Creative Kidz’s learning center is also heavily involved in the community, offering a program fostering joy and learning. They offer a tuition free Pre-K program that incorporated two top-tiered research based early childhood learning curriculums, including FrogStreet and Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum.

Both Sixx Mann and Creative Kidz are cognizant that change should include helping to eradicate police brutality, effecting change in the educational system in the United States to ensure that it is more inclusive (thereby creating learning environments where children from all ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds can excel), creating sustainable jobs/careers, and helping our children to prosper, no matter the background from which they come. These ideals will help to foster an environment where at-risk youth and all others are able to work together to achieve their common goals, while being successful for generations to come.

Sixx Mann and Creative Kidz are giving away fifty (50) pairs of Nike Athletic shoes (children’s sizes 0-1). Their respective Instagram pages (@sixxmann and @creativekidzmedia) contain instructions on the giveaway and how parents and others can take part.  Only fifty individuals will be selected for this giveaway, which is being held on a first come, first served basis.

For  more information on the Nike Giveaway, please send a direct message on Instagram to Sixx Mann or Creative Kidz Media.  For details regarding the tuition free Pre-K program offered by Creative Kidz, please send a direct message to their Instagram account. For interviews or appearances in connection with the Nike Shoe Giveaway, please contact Publicist Arlene Culpepper of MIKODreamzPR.  If you would like Sixx Mann to speak at your school or event in regards to this initiative, please send an email requesting his appearance.

ARTIST 101: Entertainment personality Jay Smash does what it takes to stay ahead of the curve

Thursday, July 19th, 2018

If you look up the word “businessman” in the dictionary, don’t be surprised if you find an entry for New Orleans artist/songwriter/entrepreneuer Jay Smash.

Jay is an interesting young artist who not only has multiple hustles within the entertainment industry, but who also takes part in his share of philanthropic activities, particularly those involving the next generation of athletic superstars. He also works hard to learn the business end of …. well, the entertainment business – and he makes sure to make his world a better place, using his music as the vehicle to effect change. Anyone who knows anything about being successful, understands that knowing the ins and outs of anything, can only push you forward!

Jay has an array of visuals and songs currently available so stay tuned to the coming press on those projects! In the meantime, take a second and get to know Jay Smash:

Stage Name: Jay Smash

Hailing from: New Orleans, Louisiana

Musical Influences: Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Rock, and Neo Soul

What’s on his playlist now? “Could you Learn?” by T.I.

If he wasn’t rapping, what would he be doing? He would be a Sports Analyst and/or Sports Commentator

If he won 10 million dollars, what would he do with it? He says you must tithe 10%, so a million would go towards kingdom building, 2 million a piece for his two boys, 3 million for his mother, and he’ll use his two million to generate more future revenue.

(NEW HEAT) Devious makes history with “Bounce That” (Prod. by BlaqNMild)

Thursday, July 12th, 2018

“We gonna start this thing off right – we got Devious in the house tonight!” – From 1992’s hit single “Where They At”

New Orleans legend Devious (and of course, Hollygrove’s own) has long been a mainstay in urban music. His new single “Bounce That” was released just as Drake’s new singles are working to bring New Orleans’ unique and often imitated/never fully duplicated sound to the world! Super producer BlaqNMild created the track and added his awesome flavor to the already delicious recipe. Yes folks, it’s an exciting time in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Devious has long worked as an architect of New Orleans’ exciting sound, most notably for his historical work on DJ Jimi’s 1992 hit single “Where They At”. In fact, that song solidified the careers of not only Jimi, but Devious and Mellow Fellow and led to an explosion of Bounce Music as an entire sub-genre. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, we must put it out there that New Orleans culture created Bounce. The city’s own legends catapulted it into mainstream. Once it took its place in music history, artists such as Drake and T.I. helped to make the sound travel even further around the globe – BUT credit must be given to those who created, cultivated and nurtured Bounce and New Orleans music in the beginning! Devious is one of those “bricklayers”.

“Bounce That” is available at all digital outlets. A full length album entitled “The Narrative” will soon be released by Devious and you can expect to see some memorable collaborations on deck. Devious is a highly lauded, talented and awarded songwriter, artist, entreprenuer, educator, and mentor who has been busy gaining songwriting credits with Cardi B, Lil Duval, Project Pat, and more. As of late, BlaqNMild has been producing for Drake on “Nice For What” and “In My Feelings”, as well as on Devious’ upcoming album.

Be on the lookout for Devious’ new video and single “Coffee House” feat another legendary Hollygrove MVP, Fiend. In fact, be on the lookout for Devious and BlaqNMild to continue adding to the history of New Orleans’ beautiful entertainment resume!

[NEW MUSIC] OMAR WILSON – “SHE GOT IT”| @OMARWILSON

Tuesday, July 10th, 2018

The Soulful Crooner, Omar Wilson delivers his latest Single, “She Got It”

Omar Wilson released his New Single “She Got It” on Friday, June 22nd. This single embodies a fresh urban hip-hop sound while keeping the soulful vibe that is the fiery Omar Wilson. “She Got It” is available now on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Tidal etc..
As a 3-time Apollo winner, Omar Wilson is no stranger to the music scene. He’s opened for artists like Boys II Men and The Neville Brothers. His music speaks to his own personal experiences growing up in an urban environment bridging the gap between Hip Hop and Soul. Growing up 30 minutes from New York City, church members at the Calvary Baptist Church in his hometown noticed his ability to have a spiritual impact through his singing at the age of only 7. While performing regularly in New York, fans gravitated towards his unique, gritty vocals. It was at that point that Omar realized what he was born to do, Soul Music. Omar was named Best R&B Male of the Year for 2 consecutive years at the Underground Music Awards held at BB Kings in NYC. He’s recorded with Multi-Platinum selling artist Angie Stone and DMX featuring them on songs he wrote. Angie Stone was quoted saying “Working with Omar Wilson came naturally and he is one to watch!” Omar and DMX worked on a song called ‘Faith’ and they connected on the track instantaneously which is audibly tangible. Omar’s voice and personality are contagious. He leaves a long-standing impression wherever he goes, wherever he sings and with whoever he meets.

Omar Wilson

The Omar experience has truly begun since his recent signing with BSE Recordings. Omar released his Debut Single “Passion” in September that climbed into the Top Ten of the U.S. charts. Omar has most recently released an epic recording and performance of the critically acclaimed “It’s A Man’s World” originally sung by the legendary James Brown. Omar’s version stands up to the test and quickly reached the #1 U.S. best seller in R&B in the first 24 hours of the release on November 10th. The song stood strong at #1 for 8 weeks. Since its release, Omar has appeared on “Great Day Washington”, Fox 29 Philadelphia along with DC’s TV show “The 202”, Arise 360 TV and NYC’s Famous B.B. Kings Blues House on Lenny Green’s “The Quiet Storm” and performed at the famous SOB’s in NYC.

All of Omar Wilson’s new release “She Got It” and all his music is available for download or streaming on all digital platforms worldwide.

(HEAT EXCLUSIVE) Cincinnati’s own A-Money drops hot new project

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018

In the entertainment world, especially where music artists are concerned, you have to have something special that stands out. Cincinnati rapper/entertainment personality A-Money has that special combination of lyrical ability and personality – qualities we don’t hear as often as we’d like. A-Money’s here to fill that void by providing quality music that stands the test of time. In his words, “They know.” One listen and you’ll understand why “THEY KNOW”.

A-Money’s a real street cat with the business acumen to turn his career into a lasting and profitable venture for many years to come. We caught up with him recently and here’s what he had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Who were the 3 most important influences on your life?

A-MONEY: My grandmother – that’s where I learned intellect and how to articulate. The other two are street nigg*s – they street nigg*s so I ain’t gone say they name.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you feel sets you apart from your counterparts?

A-MONEY: You should be able to hear the difference in my voice. This music is made from real sh*t, from a real nigg* to all real nigg*s. They know.

A-MONEY: Shid, I’m a young entertainer just starting out so all I can say is try to learn shit like I am. Feel me?

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: You’ve already worked with some amazing and legendary entertainers. If you could pick 5 other artists or producers with whom you’d like to work, who would that be and why?

A-MONEY: That’s a good ass question. So many people, but I will say Kanye and T.I. “Ye vs. the people starring T.I as the people” made me start back f*cking with this music sh*t. It was genius and innovative. Also, Big Juice the producer, the Migos, Rihanna and Baby Soljia. It’s a lot more; I just tried to touch on some different areas.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Where can your fans expect to see you in the next 5 years?

A-MONEY: Ha Ha ….. sh*t, it depends on how they continue to take a nigg* music. 5 years, I can either be on Hollywood Boulevard, or back on Reading Road. Feel me?

Meet INDOE, one of the hardest working young entertainers out

Monday, June 25th, 2018

From Hermosa Beach, California to Montclair, New Jersey – to points in the entertainment industry that most young entertainers would sell their souls for, INDOE has definitely touched down and is here to stay!

In fact, INDOE has accomplished feats that most seasoned entertainers have only been able to dream of – from performing background vocals on hits from MC Lyte and Big L (as a youngster we might add), to working with superstars such as Destiny’s Child, Wyclef Jean, Pink, and Kandi Burrus. But wait …. There’s more! INDOE has a role on 50 Cent’s POWER.

INDOE is working tirelessly to make a name for herself. And she’s doing just that. We caught up with her recently, and here’s what she had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell the readers a little about yourself.

INDOE: Well, I was raised between California and New Jersey. I have loved music my entire life and that’s what I have devoted my life to.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: If you could pick 3 people who influenced you and helped to shape you as a person, who would that be and how did they influence you?

INDOE: My mother, my father and God – all three of those energies have created who I am and I don’t feel right saying anyone else but those people.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you feel sets you apart from your counterparts?

INDOE: Well, I feel like everyone is different. Everyone has their own thing. So it’s not about what sets me apart; I feel like it’s more how are all the same. Everyone is putting forth their feelings. Everyone is putting forth their best foot in regards to what I do. I just think that I am honest and I say things that, you know, people can relate to and hopefully they like it.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What new projects are you currently working on?

INDOE: I’m finishing my album, getting ready to release a second single and I’m also currently on Power Season Five. I will be on Episode Four. I just finished shooting again for the upcoming season and I hope to be working some more.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you believe is the single most important piece of advice you can give a young entertainer who is just starting out?

INDOE: Don’t stop. Focus is everything. Do not get distracted. There be a lot of pretty boys and pretty girls – a lot of temptation – but the people that make it out are people keep their heads down into their work, to not let any distractions get in the way.

EDITOR’S NOTE: INDOE’s DLK Entertainment imprint currently has the single “Deep” out, available everywhere music is sold/streamed. INDOE is a rising star, if ever there were one! Follow INDOE and her team:
