ERACISM: A tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Eracism…. It means “erase racism”.

Happy MLK Day. I am an advocate against racism every day of the year, but find that most people don’t want to talk about it all the time. On today’s date, people are generally more accepting. But, for those who don’t want to hear about all the heartfelt reasons why racism should be erased, I came up with a few practical ones:

1. Racism is expensive.
It costs a lot of money to send your child to a private school to be separated from “the others”. Not only tuition, but the school might be farther away from where you live. Gas is expensive too.

2. Racism is inconvenient.
Convenience stores. We commonly label them as “black” stores or “white” stores. The most convenient store might be closer to where you are, but you choose to go completely out of your way to avoid it. Doesn’t this seem ridiculous?? Lol

3. Racism hinders you from having great relationships. Did you ever think that you’re lonely because you’re cutting off millions of people who could possibly be your best friend or soulmate?

Just a few things to think about.
