In what was probably our most animated and interesting interviews to date, The Heat Magazine had an opportunity to speak with one of the hottest young artists in the game – Rashad Ballard a/k/a Lil Chuckee of Young Money.  Lil Chuckee bears watching – he’s doing big things and it seems the sky is the limit for this impressive, charismatic young man.

Lil Chuckee describes himself as a “handsome young guy” and that he certainly is – but that description merely scratches the surface of this young and talented artist.

There is so much more to this young man than just good looks.  He has a ton of personality and we can certainly see what Lil Wayne saw in him some years back, when he discovered him at only 9 years old.  Lil Chuckee was destined to be a shining star and obviously Wayne detected that.

Lil Chuckee is New Orleans to the bone, without a doubt, and he gives props to his hometown every opportunity he gets to do so.  He currently resides in Atlanta, after leaving New Orleans following the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Katrina.

The Heat Magazine sat down and talked to Lil Chuckee and here’s what he had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us a little about yourself.

LIL CHUCKEE: I’m a hard worker and a fun guy.  I love music.  I’m very humble, but a nice looking fella (laughs).

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us about how you met Lil Wayne.

LIL CHUCKEE: I met Wayne at a video shoot.  Before I started rapping, I was dancing.  I was at the video shoot when Wayne saw me and called me over.  I guess he knew I did something besides dancing, because he told me he’d like to work with me in the future.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you do in your downtime?

LIL CHUCKEE: Besides rapping, you might catch me playing basketball or working my little sister’s nerves (laughs) or chillin’ watching movies with the family.  Music is what I’m mainly focused on though.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: If you could say anything to your fans, what would that be?

LIL CHUCKEE: That I love them – that’s the main thing and thank you for the support.

Lil Chuckee released the remix to “Airplane” a couple of days ago and he is dedicating the song to his fans.

When asked about expanding his artistry in the future, Lil Chuckee tells The Heat Magazine that he has a TV show in the works, along with numerous mixtapes.  His most recent mixtape, “The Rappers Market 2”, debuted in January of 2011 and he has an upcoming mixtape called “The Bride of Chuckee”.  He’ll also have an upcoming mixtape release party for that project.

The Heat Magazine looks forward to seeing what’s in store for this rising star.  Check him out on his website at www.lilchuckeeonline.com or at www.publicistkayharris.com/clients/lil-chuckee. Follow him on Twitter at @lilchuckee.
