‘You Sleep Out Here’ by Devious ft. Kevin Gates continues to climb the charts

The hit song “You Sleep Out Here” by Hollygrove/New Orleans, Louisiana native Devious continues to climb the charts and this week, hit the #35 mark. The single features another Louisiana native, rap superstar Kevin Gates.

Devious is a well-known rapper, songwriter and producer whose award winning career has spanned well over three decades. Two years ago, he received the Songwriter of the Year Award from ASCAP. He is also known for lending his talents to the global hit “Where They At”, the song that set off a global music revolution. In the 1992 smash hit, Devious collaborated with world famous DJ Jimi and Mellow Fellow to bring New Orleans’ unique musical style to the world. He has numerous other writing credits and has been known to slay any freestyle contest in which he participated.

In addition to his lengthy and successful music career, Devious serves as mentor in many capacities. His “Read Before You Rap” motto is one that parents all across the globe can follow to keep their children on the right path. He preaches education, whether it is educating one’s self by reading and other mind stimulating activities, or by attending classes to achieve a degree of some sort.
