HEAT:  So what’s happening?  Wow…you must be going to lay some heavy stuff on us today with all the rescheduling and technical difficulties we’ve been having? (She giggles)

ALANA:  Yeah girl…

HEAT:  Well let’s go then.  I know that you’re a part of Aja’s RemyMartin’s Brown Sugar show in Buckhead, tell us about that.

ALANA:  Yes, as a matter of a fact I performed there recently.  Brown Sugar, hosted by Insight Marketing, brings the elite entertainers to Buckhead and my band, Alana Sanders and Company, plays for them.

HEAT:  Who makes up Alana Sanders and Company?

ALANA:  Well of course myself, then there’s Reggie Carter (Keys), Michael Norwood (Bass), Markeith Black (Lead Guitar) and Quinton Robinson (Drums).

HEAT:  When did you first fall in love with music?

ALANA:  I have been a lover of music for a long time.  My father was a musician.  He also taught music in public school system and he was a pastor.  He played every instrument so being in that household you had to learn to play something…beat on a box, do something…(she giggles)  With that being said, I learned piano, clarinet, and then I started singing.  I attended Grambling State University on a vocal music scholarship singing with the choir. I sang Opera.

HEAT:  Wow! Fantastic! So what genre of music would you say your music is?

ALANA:  I would say it’s more inspirational and up lifting. It does have a Neo-Soul popness type feel.  My producer did this to market my sound nationally and internationally.  I love Jazz and R&B but Neo-Soul; it’s music that makes you feel good.  That’s where I’m headed to.

HEAT:  Who’s behind that the video Full Circle?

ALANA:  Elizabeth Hayford wrote the song about her late husband and I added my vision and my director took it and ran with it.   It was produced by Casey Irvin, Directed and Edited by Blesz Media.  Everyone in this video is working actors.

HEAT:  You guys did a hell of a job!  Kudos!  So what’s coming up for Alana Sanders and Company?

ALANA:  The band will be playing in the Country Club of Eagles Landing for their Jazz night on November 04th and we have many more gigs lines up. I am currently working on a deal with my management so you will be hearing a lot from me in the future. I have two offers at this time so 2013 should be a great year.

HEAT:  Any Shout outs?

ALANA:  I would like to first thank God and my parents for instilling the gift in me. Those that supported my music throughout including my family and friends.

HEAT:  We want to thank you lady for stopping by to share with our fans and yours the journey Alana Sanders is traveling on.  We wish you much Success and whenever you got a minute holla back at us.

ALANA:  The pleasure has been mine Nik-O-Licious.  Thanks to you and especially THE HEAT for recognizing me and my band. You are guys are on fire! I wish you guys the best!
