Lil Wayne: “Flat Out, I Don’t Like New York”

Thursday, August 23rd, 2012

Young Money front man Lil Wayne hasn’t had the most pleasant of times during his visits to New York City. He was arrested in 2007 and ultimately jailed for gun possession after a show, and earlier this summer he pulled Nicki Minaj from her scheduled performance at Hot 97’s Summer Jam.

In a recent interview, Wayne was asked to speak on that particular Summer Jam situation and it was then did Weezy revealed his dislike for the Big Apple.

“Lil Wayne has never been shy about expressing his disdain for New York, but that didn’t stop Tunechi from rolling through the Roseland Ballroom to rock the stage with Nicki Minaj. ‘Flat out: I don’t like New York’, Weezy told MTV News on Monday night while in Las Vegas to introduce his new line of sneakers with Supra.”

“Wayne’s distaste for the Big Apple performances is understandable, considering it was his 2007 gun arrest after a NYC show that led to his 2010 incarceration. ‘You’re not supposed to leave it at, ‘Everything happens for a reason,’ Wayne said of how the failed Summer Jam set turned into a blessing in disguise. ‘I believe everything happens for a reason and then you make the most of that reason. I think we made the most of it last week.'”

Chris Brown Taunts YMCMB Crew Inside Night Club

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012

Chris Brown took home two BET Awards on Sunday night, and after receiving his multiple victories, Chris went out clubbing in Hollywood to celebrate, RumorFix has learned. While partying inside of Hollywood’s Supperclub Chris Brown allegedly taunted various YMCMB members that were present at the club as well.

According to a witness the club, “played Chris Brown’s diss about Drake and Chris’ whole section got crazy and he mouthed the whole part; it was funny. Young Money was on the opposite side of the room. Drake wasn’t there but his manager was, and executives Mack Mane and Cortez Bryant. They didn’t do anything though.”

They probably decided it would be best if they remained cool and kept it peaceful this time, rather than risk another battle of the flying bottles. Who knows how Drake and/or YMCMB will respond to this kind of behavior in the near future?

Nicki Minaj Rocks Pink Chicken Wing Necklace

Monday, September 26th, 2011

There was plenty of star power at the iHeartTadio Music Festival over the weekend. Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Scherzinger, Nicki Minaj and more all took their turns on the main stage.

Nicki had quite a few people talking about her colorful wardrobe, which was highlighted by a pink chicken wing necklace.

The success of her single “Super Bass” and the Young Money rapper’s sophomore album were also a topics of conversation when Billboard caught up with her on the red carpet of the event.

“I want to publicly say again that Taylor Swift really launched that single [Super Bass] into another stratosphere, with just tweeting about it and rapping it and stuff. I performed it with Taylor, and she’s so cute, and she’s like a big bowl of ice cream!” Minaj said before briefly talking about her next album. “All I can say is that Roman will definitely be a humongous part of the follow-up to ‘Pink Friday,’ I’m working on it, and the fans are gonna get their life and then some.”
