(HEAT ALBUMS) Quest the 7th – “Algiers Chronicles”

Friday, February 9th, 2018

We hear true music fans complaining almost constantly about the lack of quality music. It’s obvious they haven’t yet heard “Algiers Chronicles”, the album from dope artist/producer/arranger/songwriter/entreprenuer Quest the 7th.

Hailing from New Orleans’ “Westbank” (Algiers to be exact), Quest breathes new life into what some consider a dull and drone decade of music/entertainment. And when we say “breathes new life into”, what we really mean is “jump starts” and “successfully performs CPR” on it!

Quest the 7th is a super talented entertainer, on an upper echelon type plateau. Few musicians rival his talent and calculated movements.

Stay tuned for an upcoming interview with Quest the 7th. You’ll learn a lot more about the man behind the myth, and you’ll gain some insight as to what’s coming down the pike for Quest and his career.

TWITTER BEEF: T-Pain v. Memphitz

Saturday, March 31st, 2012

Things got a bit rawdy on Twitter last night between singer and songwriter T-Pain and Memphitz, the A&R who discovered him years ago.

The tweets turned ugly between the two after the premier of T-Pain’s VH1 Behind the Music segment aired.

Apparently, Memphitz became upset when he was excluded from the story in which he felt he was an intrical part. Years ago, he was handed T-Pain’s music from a mixtape DJ and proceeded to sign the singer to Jive Records, thus boosting T-Pain into superstardom. Apparently, that side of the story was left out of the Behind the Music recording, which not only enraged Memphitz but also his wife Toya Wright as she took to Twitter to express her dismay for the omitted story.

“‘F–K TPAIN!…Turns Channel'”, she tweeted.

Her husband was also baffled by the lack of credit given to him as well. He expressed his disappointment through his twitter.

“LooVe I dont get enuff of it, all I get is these Vampires & Blood suckers, all I see is these n–gas I made Millionaires….”

“When ur Past Fails prepare u 4 Your Future Successes. It All Begins 2 Make Perfect Sense. #MiDDLEFiNGER2MYOLDLiFE #GODSPEEDAHEAD #BANG”

“GOD Sent Her To Me. #NowWhoGoNSTopMeHuh?”

This particular set of tweets from the couple rubbed T-Pain the wrong way as he took to the social media network with a series responses of his own.

“I did a 6hr interview for Vh1 and didn’t control what they cut out. I told the whole story. But if it’s “f–k me” then that’s what it is”

“If all it takes for you to say “f–k t pain” is havin your part of the story cut out by a network. Then what kind of friend is that anyway”

“Get at me bra. It’s easy to get on twitter and say f–k t pain but you can’t get on here and say Thanx for 100k and the three cars”

“It’s all good tho. I’m used to it by now. I just didn’t expect it from you. Good luck with the new show.”

“You got my number bra. I got a missed call from you two nights ago. So if we gone have a talk I’d rather not do it on twitter yasimelike”

But later that night, Memphitz put to rest any sign of a feud between the two.

“There is NO BEEF. ABSOLUTLEY NONE. So Stop Looking For It TweepLe. #IMWORKIN”

Nik-O-Licious got a chance to catch up with oh, so busy M.C./Artist/Actor and here’s what he wanted to share with The Heat fans.

THE HEAT: So tell us where you pay homage to?
CALLOWAY: I was born & partially raised in Miami & Perry Florida, Needless to say that I’m a country cat…But I’d like to think of myself as a “bastard child” of hip-hop…coming from florida to georgia & listening to ALL types of music along the way….My mental is a smorgasbord of creative music.
THE HEAT: When did you first fall in love with rap?
CALLOWAY: I first fell in love with rap in the late 80’s…I’d credit NWA, GETO BOYS, TOO SHORT & Rob Base & Dj EZ-Rock “It Takes Two” with my claim to dreams of fame.
THE HEAT: What’s the single you’re pushing off your mixtape?
CALLOWAY: My single from “The Execution” is “We Workin'”.
THE HEAT: Where did that song come from?
CALLOWAY: The single came from, working hard..REALLY WANTING & WORKING FOR SOMETHING….and in the END?…DYING for it if i have to..Dig?…I WANT this..I EARNED this!
THE HEAT: What are you bringing to the rap game that hasn’t already been done?
CALLOWAY: I’m bringing the EVERYDAY MAN’S struggle…his plight, his hunger, his desperation to DO IT!…My story is not the story of “Oh i sold dope”…It’s I WORKED (LEGALLY) over a decade to provide for my fam & I’m better than these niggas that sold dope. (LYRICALLY)
THE HEAT: What’s the next step for Sir Calloway?
CALLOWAY: Success….I promise I WILL NOT LOSE!
THE HEAT: Any other singles on the mixtape we should really be looking out for?
CALLOWAY: The next single to look for is “The Word Is An Ashtray” Feat. 4-IZE & JAWZ OF LIFE
THE HEAT: What’s next for Sir Calloway?
CALLOWAY: Whatever the Lord has in store…..
THE HEAT: Anybody you wanna shout out to that helped make this mixtape a reality?
CALLOWAY: First & Foremost…I’d like to shout out to Nik and The Heat for the interview & opportunity to be heard….It means a lot to me. Shouts out to the producers of “THE EXECUTION” .. Bolo Da Producer, Mr. KooMan, Epik, Traffik Beatz, Flawless Tracks, Jinx Beatz & Rashad Thompson Shouts out to the artists of “THE EXECUTION” …BIG RUBE & BACKBONE (OF THE DUNGEON FAMILY), 4-IZE, JAWZ OF LIFE, YUNG RUCKAS, K.
