THE SHOW: Don’t listen to the streets, listen to the man

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

“And this my story, You got it first hand, Don’t Listen to the streets, Listen to the man”. – THE SHOW

One-fourth of The Rap Pack and one of New Orleans’ hottest artists, The Show has released the second installment in THE SHOW’S DOB3 Viral Series. It is a soon to be smash hit produced by FlightSchool Productions’ own Ceaux Young.

In “Release Therapy”, THE SHOW captures the listener’s full attention by painting the picture of being a regular person who deals with the perceptions of others for being noticed in the local and mainstream eye of the music industry. THE SHOW also touches on his connection to the legendary Mannie Fresh – a famous artist and producer in his own right, who needs no introduction.

“They find it hard to fathom how the baddest dude spazzin over tracks for the past 5 years on the shelf”. – THE SHOW on questions posed by his loyal fanbase, as to where his career is currently

The video was filmed by Inspired Dreams Film Group founder Kerry Lofton, who has worked with multitudes of local and national artists.

“This guy THE SHOW was able to bring a level of creativity out of me that was untapped.” – Kerry Lofton on his time working with THE SHOW

Release Therapy” is available on THE SHOW’s DOB3 The Final Cut release on iTunes. Check it out – you won’t be disappointed.

Check out THE SHOW and the rest of the EGMG here: and show some massive support for New Orleans’ new waves of REAL emcees. THE SHOW can most definitely be counted among those.

Where They Party At: Inside Look on some cool spots in New Orleans #2

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

New Orleans can not be described without the inclusion of live music.  In any visit, most will take a stroll in the French Quarter.  During this adventure, streets like Bourbon and Decatur quickly come to mind.  The Heat Magazine wanted to give our readers the scoop on other world famous streets and party spots.  To begin with,  The Heat takes a look at Frenchmen Street.  Our first venue is a multi level bar/restaurant, The Maison.  Consider this a smorgasbord for entertainment with the possibility of having music on three different stages in one night.

The Maison 508 Frenchmen Street

The fun does not end there. Private parties and receptions can also be accommodated.  The restaurant opens daily at 5 p.m.  and catering is available.  Well known rap stars Mystikal and Snoop Dogg have performed at The Maison.  On Lundi Gras, Mannie Fresh will be on the Penthouse stage within the multi-faceted club.  For more information, contact (504) 371-5543.

Our next stop is Toulouse Street.  One Eyed Jacks is a bar featuring live music and a disc jockey.  Known for showcasing national and international acts, One Eyed Jacks’ atmosphere adds a feel referred to as “intimate”.  A favorite location of locals, this carnival season features extraordinary entertainment.  February 11th,  the venue will sizzle as its “Red Hot Nola” concert takes place.  Kermit Ruffins, The BBQ Swingers, Hot 8 Brass Band, and Partners N Crime featuring the Big Easy Bounce Band guarantee a night to remember.  The Heat Magazine wanted to share the beauty within its interior.  With a theatrical decor, the rich culture and historic influence is vivid.   Imagine the best brass bands and colorful scenery.  Thursday night is dance night centered around music from the 80’s.  Other nights may vary, but this event remains the same. Burlesque shows, jazz, funk, and rock are integral elements of One Eyed Jacks.  The bar is located two blocks from Bourbon Street.  For more information, contact (504) 569-8361.

Although partying is high priority during this time of year in New Orleans, The Heat Magazine hopes revelers will embrace the historical symbolism evident in the various venues introduced in addition to some of the world’s greatest cuisine.
