Rapper YG Shot In Los Angeles: Report

Friday, June 12th, 2015

Rapper YG has reportedly been shot in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, the Compton rapper was shot three times in the hip at a recording studio early Friday morning. Despite the injuries, YG (real name: Keenon Jackson) was able to get himself into a his car and have a friend drive him to a nearby hospital.

Police were called to the scene and found shell casings and blood, but reportedly found the rapper to be “very uncooperative” when asked about the shooting.

No arrests have been made in the incident, and there is no word on the condition of YG.

YG has a well-documented history with the police, including a 2009 arrest for a parole violation, a 2012 incident where shots were fired on the set of his music video for “I’m a Thug,” and an incident last year where YG had to drop off multiple Drake vs. Lil Wayne dates because the LAPD were rumored to be barring him from performing.

Birdman Will Not Let Lil Wayne Leave Cash Money

Sunday, December 14th, 2014

Birdman is NOT letting Lil Wayne out of his recording contract, no matter how much he bitches.

Sources close to Birdman tell us … he’s deeply offended by Weezy’s public rants … claiming Birdman has tried to derail his career by refusing to release his new album. Weezy didn’t mince words, tweeting, “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people.”

Birdman is unmoved and vows to duke it out in court if necessary, because a contract is a contract.

As for the delay in dropping the album, we’re told Birdman says there’s lots of administrative work that goes into releasing a record, and Weezy is just a rapper, not a businessman, so what does he know?

Birdman still intends to release the album, but on his time, not Weezy’s.

Wayne has thrown down the gauntlet, calling himself a prisoner of the Cash Money music mogul.

Lil Wayne took to his official Twitter account at Lil Wayne WEEZY F ( @LilTunechi) to complain about his record company, and blame Birdman for holding up the release of his next album.

Karlie Redd Rejects The Drama With New Single “Heartbreaker” Airing On Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Tonight

Tuesday, August 12th, 2014

Karlie Redd rises above the drama of this season’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and sets the haters straight with the release of her new single “Heartbreaker” featuring Young Dro. As Love & Hip Hop Atlanta has shown Redd in her element working hard in the studio, viewers and fans will finally be able to hear Redd’s latest single during tonight’s episode.

“I’m excited for fans to finally hear my new music,” says Redd. “A lot of hard work has put into this music, so I’m ready for the world to hear it.

“Heartbreaker” was written by Sydne Renee and produced by Meco. Meco has worked with major artists such as Lil Wayne, Akon, August Alsina, Verse Simmonds, Cap 1, Musiq Soulchild and D Woods. His last hit was “Buy You A Round” by Verse Simmonds. The music deal was signed by Way Beyond and distributed by EMI.

In light of drama, rumors that Redd is homeless and dating Michael Blaxson are completely false. Because of the constant publicity swirl around Love & Hip Hop, Redd has simply chosen to keep this part of her life very private. She is, however, living very comfortably in a lovely home. Mr. Blaxson is merely a friend and business associate of Ms. Redd. They maintain a completely platonic and respectable relationship. Therefore, any speculation of truth behind these rumors is completely false.

In the second part of the interview, he shares the story behind his record “Talkin’ 2 Myself” off Recovery, where he mentions wanting to diss Kanye West and Lil Wayne back when he was going through personal issues. “Anything that was hot at that moment, or anybody that was really killing shit at that moment, I felt so bad about myself and the music that I was creating, that I felt like I started to turn into a hater.”

Who Do We Blame For Our Children Dressing Like This

Friday, January 24th, 2014

I don’t blame the hood rat who dressed her son with his pants sagging and his drawers exposed, I blame hip hop and its poisonous influence on our culture. This photo of a toddler dressed in urban gear and holding a stack of cash big enough to choke a horse is making the rounds on the Internet. Influential rappers like Jay Z and Lil Wayne encourage our young men to continue dressing like slobs. Is it any wonder that the white community considers us to be a race of Thugs?

3 Things You Didn’t Know About K. Michelle!

Thursday, October 24th, 2013

Who Is K Michelle?

1. K. Michelle went to college on a scholarship!

K. Michelle got a free scholarship to FAMU, for “yodeling”. It was very unique and set her apart from others. She was even pregnant through college but that didn’t stop her, she finished on time and got her degree in “psychology”. Wow had no idea. K. Michelle might just be a true genius, to have played such a villain on the show, shes is truly smarter then what people have given her credit for.
“Yeah, I got a scholarship for yodeling. It’s a HBCU (historically black college and university), so they weren’t used to that. I sang other songs as well, but I yodeled and they gave me a scholarship.”Who knew! K.’s 7-year-old son was born while the singer was still at FAMU, but the musician was able to have her son and still obtain a degree in psychology in four years.”
“That’s why when people say they can’t go to college and the can’t finish college, I don’t hear them. I went to class everyday up until I had my baby, and I went back to school a week later. And I graduated on time, in four years,” K. told The Urban Daily.

2. K. Michelle is an advocate against domestic violence
K. Michelle made major headlines when it was revealed on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 2 that she and ex-boyfriend Mickey “Memphitz” Wright were allegedly in an abusive relationship. It was especially shocking seeing as Memphitz is now married to Toya Carter (aka rapper Lil’ Wayne’s ex-wife). In 2012, the singer starred in a PSA against domestic violence where she was made to look like a battered woman.

3. K. Michelle has her own reality show in the works!
That’s right! While we know that K. Michelle has moved on to Love & Hip Hop NY in an attempt to work on her career, she recently revealed that her appearances LHHNY are a trade in for her own VH1 reality show! K. says that he new show will feature her working on her singing career and hanging with her industry friends like Elle Varner, and her ex-boyfriend, NBA star Lance Stephenson. We can’t wait!
