Meet INDOE, one of the hardest working young entertainers out

Monday, June 25th, 2018

From Hermosa Beach, California to Montclair, New Jersey – to points in the entertainment industry that most young entertainers would sell their souls for, INDOE has definitely touched down and is here to stay!

In fact, INDOE has accomplished feats that most seasoned entertainers have only been able to dream of – from performing background vocals on hits from MC Lyte and Big L (as a youngster we might add), to working with superstars such as Destiny’s Child, Wyclef Jean, Pink, and Kandi Burrus. But wait …. There’s more! INDOE has a role on 50 Cent’s POWER.

INDOE is working tirelessly to make a name for herself. And she’s doing just that. We caught up with her recently, and here’s what she had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell the readers a little about yourself.

INDOE: Well, I was raised between California and New Jersey. I have loved music my entire life and that’s what I have devoted my life to.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: If you could pick 3 people who influenced you and helped to shape you as a person, who would that be and how did they influence you?

INDOE: My mother, my father and God – all three of those energies have created who I am and I don’t feel right saying anyone else but those people.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you feel sets you apart from your counterparts?

INDOE: Well, I feel like everyone is different. Everyone has their own thing. So it’s not about what sets me apart; I feel like it’s more how are all the same. Everyone is putting forth their feelings. Everyone is putting forth their best foot in regards to what I do. I just think that I am honest and I say things that, you know, people can relate to and hopefully they like it.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What new projects are you currently working on?

INDOE: I’m finishing my album, getting ready to release a second single and I’m also currently on Power Season Five. I will be on Episode Four. I just finished shooting again for the upcoming season and I hope to be working some more.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you believe is the single most important piece of advice you can give a young entertainer who is just starting out?

INDOE: Don’t stop. Focus is everything. Do not get distracted. There be a lot of pretty boys and pretty girls – a lot of temptation – but the people that make it out are people keep their heads down into their work, to not let any distractions get in the way.

EDITOR’S NOTE: INDOE’s DLK Entertainment imprint currently has the single “Deep” out, available everywhere music is sold/streamed. INDOE is a rising star, if ever there were one! Follow INDOE and her team:

Worker fired for disabling GPS app that ‘tracked her 24 hours a day’

Tuesday, May 12th, 2015

Myrna Arias, of California, alleges she was fired from money transfer service company, Intermex, last May after she uninstalled job management app, Xora, from her company smart phone.

A California woman claims she was fired after disabling an app with a GPS function that was required to run on her company iPhone and tracked her 24 hours a day.

Myrna Arias was working for money transfer service company, Intermex, last year when she claims her boss, John Stubits, ‘bragged that he knew how fast she was driving’ at certain times after she had installed the app, Xora, according to the lawsuit.

She then objected to being monitored during non-work hours claiming it was an invasion of her privacy and ‘likened the app to a prisoner’s ankle bracelet’.

Arias uninstalled the app from her company issued phone in April 2014 before she was fired from her $7,250 a month job as a sales executive on May 5, 2014.

Police in northern California have launched a massive manhunt for a ‘bold’ would-be rapist who tried to attack a 13-year-old girl as she was opening her door to return home.

Disturbing home surveillance video shows the man stalking the girl as she walks to her porch before he forces his way into the San Jose property on Tuesday.

Fortunately, the girl fought back and slapped the man in the face causing him to flee, but not before his face had been captured on camera.

The girl then locked herself in a closet and texted her father, ‘Daddy come home now. Some guy tried to rape me.’

Drugs Trafficked Alongside Wal-Mart-Bound Food

Friday, December 12th, 2014

Prosecutors say Pittsburgh drug traffickers smuggled bricks of cocaine alongside food bound for Wal-Mart.

A grand jury indicted six men this week on charges they conspired to move large supplies of cocaine and heroin into the region from California and Arizona. Investigators tapped phones, found documents that outlined the suspects’ supply chain and seized more than $900,000.

They say they came across two of the men in Somerset County driving a tractor-trailer carrying about 42 pounds of cocaine and pallets of Wal-Mart-bound groceries.

Wal-Mart says the truck belonged to an outside carrier. The company says it destroyed all the food after the drug seizure because of contamination concerns.

Prosecutors say the suspected ring leader and three others face up to life in prison and a $10 million fine.

The Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Mo, has set off protests and memorials since it was announced that Officer Darren Wilson wouldn’t be charged for Brown’s murder. With protests reaching cities in New York, California, Washington D.C. and Atlanta, one father took on protesters in San Diego for blocking a highway.

According to the Daily Mail, Tyree Landrum got into a physical altercation with a protester Wednesday morning after a group of protesters blocked the 1-5 highway. The father of six told reporters he has three jobs and claims that if he didn’t get to his retail job, he was going to be fired. He also said that the public outrage from the case has done nothing to help the situation.

“If I don’t get there, I’m going to get fired. I’ve got six f****** kids to feed,” he said. “The day goes on homie, n**** get shot everyday. Deal with it the right way, not like this.”

He pushed one of the protesters to the side of the highway, grabbed his bullhorn and said, “Hey, I feel you; we ain’t got no justice either.” Police arrived on the scene and the group was removed from the highway allowing people to continue with their morning commute. Landrum and the protester weren’t arrested, but the father’s story gained the attention of Ryan Fusco who started a fund-raising page in his name to make sure Landrum’s children receive Christmas presents. After the video went viral, many called the father a hero for trying hard to provide for his family.

“I’m not a hero,” Landrum said. ‘I’m nobody special, just doing what I thought was right.”

So far, $5,000 has been raised for Landrum and his family. Check out the fund-raising site here and the viral video above.

Woman Trapped For 18 Hours After Car Wreck Rescued Thanks To ‘Find My iPhone’ App

Friday, October 17th, 2014

After spending 18 hours trapped in her car at the bottom of a 500-foot deep ravine, a California woman was rescued by officials Tuesday morning — thanks to an ingenious police officer and an app on her iPad.

Melissa Vasquez, 28, lost control of her Chevrolet Cruze around 2 p.m. Monday, driving off the road east of San Jose, California, and tumbling hundreds of feet down a steep slope, ultimately coming to rest in a spot where the OnStar GPS system in her car couldn’t pinpoint her precise location, say police.

At 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Vasquez’s family called the police to report her missing after she failed to return home. Campbell Police Officer Dave Cameron, who responded to the house, asked her family if Vasquez had an iPad with “Find My iPhone” on it — an app that lets a user remotely track down their phone in the event they misplace it.

Missouri VA Hospital Under Fire For Exposing 1,800 Veterans To Hepatitis And HIV

Sunday, September 7th, 2014

John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis has recently mailed letters to 1,812 veterans telling them they could contract hepatitis B, hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) after visiting the medical center for dental work, said Rep. Russ Carnahan.

Carnahan said Tuesday he is calling for a investigation into the issue and has sent a letter to President Obama about it.
“This is absolutely unacceptable,” said Carnahan, a Democrat from Missouri. “No veteran who has served and risked their life for this great nation should have to worry about their personal safety when receiving much needed healthcare services from a Veterans Administration hospital.”

The issue stems from a failure to clean dental instruments properly, the hospital told CNN affiliate KSDK.

Dr. Gina Michael, the association chief of staff at the hospital, told the affiliate that some dental technicians broke protocol by handwashing tools before putting them in cleaning machines.

The instruments were supposed to only be put in the cleaning machines, Michael said.

The handwashing started in February 2009 and went on until March of this year, the hospital told KSDK.

The hospital has set up a special clinic and education centers to help patients who may have been infected. However, Carnahan said he feels more should be done and those responsible should be disciplined.

“I can only imagine the horror and anger our veterans must be feeling after receiving this letter,” Carnahan said. “They have every right to be angry. So am I.”

This is not the first time this year a hospital has been in hot water for not following proper procedures.

In June, Palomar Hospital in San Diego, California, has sent certified letters to 3,400 patients who underwent colonoscopy and other similar procedures, informing the patients that there may be a potential of infection from items used and reused in the procedures.

Atlanta on the Lookout for Sexy Lady Wanted in $175k Bank Scam

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014

Atlanta police are currently on the lookout for 26-year-old Tanya Monique Peel, who they identified by using her sexy Facebook selfies after she allegedly transferred $123,000 from a stranger’s Charles Schwab account into her Chase account. The North Carolina native reportedly used her real name on the bank account, and when police scanned her name on Facebook, Peel’s photos matched the woman in the surveillance videos.

Atlanta Police Detective Ken Stapler told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he believed she was working with a group of professionals on the deal and added, “There is no way she did this by herself.”

The investigation began after Atlanta resident Terrance Fowler reported the cash missing from his account, which was obtained after Peel and her group got his identifying information and phone number. They knew that Charles Schwab called account holders before making transfers, so they had all calls from Fowler’s cell forwarded to an untraceable number. When the bank called to verify the transfer they ended up speaking to one of the thieves, which set the transfer into motion without a hitch.

Investigators say Peel was able to transfer $123,000 into her fake business account, and another $51,000 into a California account, and withdrew all the money soon after it was deposited.

Police are offering a $2,000 reward for any information on her whereabouts. Callers can leave confidential tips at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
