KING SUNI BLAC: The new conscious rap (VIDEO)

Intelligent, thought provoking lyrics laced over impeccable beats – in today’s rap music, sometimes you don’t hear those two together. With King Suni Blac’s music, it’s a given that you will.

King Suni Blac is a driven innovator in music and it shows all throughout his product. He’s true hip hop to his core, having looked up to Tupac Shakur as a role model – and everybody knows Tupac is probably the most important artist of our time.

King Suni Blac strives to make inspirational music and at the end of the day, it’s obvious that he throws his heart and soul into it, in order to give it substance and purpose.

The Heat was afforded the opportunity to hear what is really on King Suni Blac’s mind and we most definitely didn’t pass that up. Here’s our interview with him:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell our readers about your music – what drives you as an artist?

KING SUNI BLAC: My music is for the listeners. I am more of a conscious artist with a message. I started out as a poet, more spoken word, and always had my eyes on becoming the next 2Pac Shakur. The more practice I pursued, the better I got. I always wanted to stand out and be different with music. I’ve never been the get in where I fit in type of guy. But being a Baller doesn’t help you in the music game because the ballers before me didn’t pan out so well. My drive is making the type of music that I like to listen to. I’m not an artist for the fame or the money or the attention. I have an amazing story to tell and I want the world to hear it.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Who were your musical influences?

KING SUNI BLAC: My musical influences are 2Pac, The Roots, Mos Def, Andre 3000, Common, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, and BIG. Those type of artists helped me make the music I make.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Your style is unique & refreshing. What did you do to develop your talents?

KING SUNI BLAC: What did I do to develop my talents in music? I just love music, like music without lyrics. I collect music like an art collector collects paintings – the harmony, the flow of energy, the impact to the soul. Something happens to me when the right beat hits my ears at the right time. I just start to write down what the beat tells me and by the end of the track, I listen back and I’ve said some things that I have no clue where they come from, but it fits the track perfect and the storyline of the music is now written. I continue to practice my craft until it’s an undeniable demand for my music because it has amazing substance. That’s my purpose with music.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What inspires you?

KING SUNI BLAC: God is my source that inspires me. He tells me I am to lead the people with my music and to share my pink light with the world. My message shall touch those who need guidance.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What can we expect to see from King Suni Blac in the near future?

KING SUNI BLAC: Well you can expect to see King Suni Blac lead the movement of new independent artist of the future. YBG – Young Boss Generation.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: If you could work with any other artist(s), who would that be?

KING SUNI BLAC: I would work with any and all artists. I’m open to that 100%. Look out for the new internet website, Viralgo.net. If you missed out on Google and missed out on Facebook, don’t miss out on this.
