October 25th, the city of New Orleans will gather at the Ashe Cultural Center.
This year’s Nola Music Awards also known as Nola Hip Hop Awards expands its musical and cultural coverage. As a result, legends such as Fats Domino and Kermit Ruffins will be honored. Additionally, Juvenile and Ms. Tee will also be highlighted for their accomplishments as urban rap artists.
Respect and homage will also be extended to Trumpet Black. Travis “Trumpet Black” Hill, a passionate trumpeter and member of New Birth Brass Band, Corey Henry and the Treme Funktet and his own Heart Attacks band, died on May 4 in Tokyo, according to a brief statement from the musician’s publicist. He was 28.
Categories ranging from the Soulja Slim Award, the highest honor, to Social Median of the year, are a testament of the growth of this inner city award show.
Some of the top artists on the grind this year will soon land nominations for their efforts and success rate this past year. As it relates to events, Nola Music Awards has scheduled four days of intriguing activities. For more information, visit their site http://www.thenolamusicawards.com
