Pine Bluff police are continuing their investigation into the Saturday night shooting death of a 28-year-old man on the north side of the city.

Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the victim as Kenneth Wayne Moore Jr., who was found in the parking lot in front of 204 Rhinehart Road after police responded to a report of a shooting and a man down. Moore was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m., and Kelley listed the apparent cause of death as a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The body was sent Sunday to the State Medical Examiner’s Office at Little Rock for an autopsy.

PBPD spokesman Lt. David Price said no suspects have been identified or arrested in connection with the slaying, which was the 16th of the year in Pine Bluff.

This was the second time this year that there had been a reported shooting in the same area on Rhinehart Road. On Feb. 28, police responded to a incident in the same area. The victim’s wounds in that incident were described by police at the time as non-life threatening.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the detective division at 730-2090 or the dispatch center at 541-5300. All calls will be kept confidential.
