Frank Ocean Comes Out as Gay On New Album

A day after Anderson Cooper came out as gay, another well known celebrity has reportedly come out through his new album. Frank Ocean, Odd Future crooner and Watch the Throne collaborator, supposedly came out as gay on his new album, “Channel Orange”. The songs “Pink Matter”, “Bad Religion”, and “Forrest Gump” all have references to a person he’s in love with, except he uses the pronoun him instead of she.

This news will come as a shock to many, but it’s a step in the right direction for gay men and the gay community. Visibility in the community, especially in the hip hop diaspora is important, making it easier and more comfortable for others to follow in Ocean’s footsteps. “Channel Orange” drops on July 17.
