The woman, who has been identified by Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy III as Barbara Lafleur, of Saratoga Springs, calmly walked in each store and was captured by security cameras in each.

The first store on Lafleur’s short shopping tour was Curtis Lumber in Ballston Spa, New York. While there, witnesses said she approached two employees before leaving the store of her own accord, telling one employee on the way out, “Have a good day.”

“No one wanted to say much to her,” remarked store manager Bob Eakin to the Times Union. “It’s not a situation you want to be involved in.” It is kinda awkward.

A male student was suspended from a southern Maryland school for wearing girls’ clothing, and the incident has sparked a big controversy in Calvert County.

Warren Evans, an openly bisexual student at Calvert High School, was suspended for violating the school’s dress code by wearing a skirt.

Evans says the school is discriminating against him and does not believe he violated any dress code.

“I don’t think so. Why not? It didn’t say anywhere in the code of conduct or dress code that says boys can’t dress like girls,” Evans commented.

The school district’s dress code policy states schools can regulate dress or even hair lengths.

Students at the school told News4’s Shomari Stone that female students wear skirts of the same length that Evans wore, but they were not suspended.

School officials will not comment on the suspension. They did say the dress code applies to all students, regardless of gender.

Some parents agree with school officials, saying it’s a distraction for their kids when a boy dresses up like a girl in the classroom. Others simply say it’s not appropriate.

But Evan’s father disagrees stating, “Some people aren’t tolerant of that type of thing”.

At least three people are dead and as many as three more have been injured in an outbreak of shootings Thursday afternoon in west Louisville, Ky.

When police arrived at the 1000 block of 32nd Street, they found two men dead of gunshot wounds, police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said. A third man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The third person was killed after a scuffle broke out between two women in a crowd that had gathered behind police tape at the scene, said Police Chief Steve Conrad.
As they scuffled, one woman pulled out a gun and fired on the other woman, Conrad said. An officer who was standing near the scuffle responded, firing at least one shot, shooting the woman with the gun, Conrad said. She was taken to the hospital, where her condition is unknown, he said. The other woman died at the scene.
Conrad said the police officer who fired his weapon will be placed on administrative leave.
The man who received life-threatening injuries in the initial shooting drove away from the scene before he was taken to the hospital, Mitchell said.
“This was pretty brazen,” Mitchell said.
As a result of the shootings, University Hospital — where the shooting victims were taken — was placed on lockdown. David McArthur, a hospital spokesman, said on the advice of police, a series of “heightened security measures” were put in place.
Jefferson County Public School officials said that five schools in the area were not on lock down, but that as a precaution, they were on a high security level. Students who live in the vicinity of the shooting where the school district has a bus stop were taken to Central High School.
Parents could pick the students up from there, said district spokeswoman Lauren Roberts. Otherwise, the district will take them home when the area is cleared.

Late Thursday afternoon, Enrique Milla testified at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse from his new home in Lima, Peru via Skype. He said he wanted a penile implant to improve his sex life in 2007. “About a year before I realized I had problems,” Milla said through a translator. “I had problems having intimate relations with my wife. As time went by, that problem got worse.”

Milla’s attorney argues that an anesthesiologist overlooked his client’s pre-existing medical conditions, which resulted in Milla having no more external male genitalia. According to the lawyer, Milla should have never been allowed to undergo elective penile implant surgery to treat erectile dysfunction back in August 2007.

(WSVN) — The alleged victim of a brutal beat down is speaking out after the attack was recorded, then posted online.

Celina Bennet, 18, is a student at an alternative school for at-risk teens in Oakland Park.

Celina said she was walking home when six to eight girls jumped her. “I had walked away, and as I’m walking to the bus stop, that’s when a whole group of girls were in the car and just came out and jumped me,” Celina said. “I don’t even know any of them.”

The 18-year-old said she was followed home. “It’s just crazy because I’ve never been jumped like that before, and it was a new experience. All I could do was take the hits,” she said.

Someone recorded the fight and posted the video on YouTube, which pained the teen’s father, Ben Bennet, to see. “I’ve never had to deal with a situation where the crime was against my child,” he said, “so I couldn’t view it. It was very difficult to see her on the ground and having that many people attacking her when she wasn’t even able to provide a defense. It was very difficult.”

On Thursday, Rapper Rick Ross donated dozens of iPads to high achieving students at his alma-mater, Carol City High school.

The principal said the gadgets will be used to help students complete their college applications.
