Gary Native Yoson Tala breaks through the Hip-Hop Music Barrier

Growing up on the streets of Gary, In., you must live by the code or die by the code.

Keith Stone (later known as Yoson Tala) wanted to beat all odds. With Yoson growing up on the streets of Gary, he eventually knew that something had to give. Growing up, Yoson always had a love for music but it wasn’t until his freshman year in high school is when he fell “in love” with music. Watching and listening to kids rap on his lunch break fueled something inside Yoson. His cousin owned an independent label (S.G.P. Records) and that’s where Yoson started his craft. When Yoson is asked “what music influences him?”, he often refers to the “label cliques” such as “Cash Money”, No Limit and the “Ghetto Boyz”. He uses them as an answer because he knew that “ghetto based” people like them can make it with music. Yoson got so inspired by those “cliques” that he later formed one of his own…. The T.A.L.A Nation (To All Loyal Affiliates). Yoson credits Nas as being his most influential person in the industry to him. To him, Nas was telling his story of survival in the hood all while having style and discussing topics with meaning.

“Hip Hop is a couple of elements that comes from back in the days…that feel of music with an urgency that speaks to you. It speaks to your livelihood and its’ not compromised. It’s blunt. It’s raw, straight off the street from the beat to the voice to the words” ~Nas

Witnessing how his city of Gary was ruining lives with the violence in the streets, Yoson ended up moving to London, England for a year, so he could put his all into his music. Music gave him a way to express himself with all the pain that he had bottled up in his soul. “I didn’t choose

Throughout his career thus far, Yoson has made a couple of solo mixtapes…” Storytellers volume 1&2” and “Indiana to England”. In 2016, he released an album called “Kreation”  on Itunes. Currently, he is working on pushing his single, “Bond Money” from the current album “Mr. Robot”. In the meantime, you can check out his arsenal of YouTube and Vevo.

With his rising success in music, Yoson had had the privilege to open for major acts such as Wiz Khalifa, Sage the Gemini, Lil Wayne, Migos, Drake and Big Sean…the list goes on and on. He also performed on the “Carnival, “Essex”, “ SXSW” and “Lovebox” stages. Yoson has been seen on the hit tv show “Bad Girls Club Season 10 Atlanta” and has been cast as an extra on ‘The Chi” and “Chicago Fire”. Also, he is currently preparing himself as a featured headliner alongside Silkk The Shocker (and a slew of others) for the 2017 summer tour “Go Hard or Go Home He just finished a show with MMG’s own Gun Play in Miami, Fl. Yoson is also a featured artist for THE HYPE MAGAZINE “Voice of the Midwest”.

“If you wake up deciding what you want to give versus what you’re going to get, you become a more successful person.”- Russell Simmons
