Kristopher McNeil, 29, was found walking along Highway 52 near the Davidson/Forsyth line around 11pm Sunday night, a day after he disappeared from the Brown Creek Correctional Institution.

A convicted murderer who escaped from a North Carolina prison this weekend was arrested on Sunday, while the kitchen worker who has been charged with helping him break out is now behind bars.

Kristopher McNeil, 29, is believed to have scaled the fence at the minimum-security unit of Brown Creek Correctional Institution in Polkton on Saturday, prison officials said.

He was found walking along Highway 52 near the Davidson/Forsyth County line around 11pm on Sunday night after being recognized by passersby from media reports.
