It is not often a live band from New Orleans is able to maintain a unique identity and go beyond playing  traditional favorites. The Brass-A-Holics have been able to fuse various genres of music together and develop a style of their own. Refusing to be labeled, the talented group of eclectics are led by feeling and energy received from their fanbase. February 3rd at The House of Blues in New Orleans on Decatur Street, they will embark on a new milestone. The Brass-A-Holics will be recording their sophomore album live.  “We wanted to give our audience the true essence of what we do which is performing live,” said trombonist Winston Turner.

The Heat Magazine: What can your fans and our readers expect during the performance?

Brass-A-Holics: We will be recording original material and filming a documentary.

The Heat Magazine: What is the name of the album?

Brass-A-Holics: Both the album and documentary are titled “Word on the Street-Live From The House of Blues New Orleans”.

The album is scheduled to be released during festival season in New Orleans.  “We want our beautiful fans and friends to be able to bring what we do back home with them,” said trumpeter Tannon Williams.

In addition to being a great band that has performed nationally and abroad, The Brass-A-Holics are community stakeholders. Part of the proceeds from the event will benefit the New Orleans Performing and Arts Society.

Doors open at 8pm and showtime is at 9pm. Tickets are available at houseofblues.com/New Orleans or Ticketmaster.com.

In association with Live Nation, The Brass-A-Holics live album will also include Tysson and Tonya-Boyd-Cannon.
