ARTIST 101: Perry G, a “new” New Orleans sensation


We’re kicking off our first “Artist 101” of 2018 with a very special artist/songwriter/businessman/family man (probably his favorite role, if he had to pick one!) from New Orleans, Louisiana who goes by the name of Perry G. While Perry G is fairly new to the music scene, he has been working for a while name to make a name for himself – and he’s doing just that. Learn more about Perry G below!

Where you’re from: New Orleans, Louisiana (Algiers, to be exact)

Musical Influences: Old School New Orleans music, Old School music in general, Rich Homie Quan, Kevin Gates, T-Pain, and Drake

Production Influences: Zaytoven, Nard & B, Aha Gazelle, Mannie Fresh, London On The Track, and Metro Boomin

Favorite Food: Grilled Foods and Hibachi, Steak, Salmon, Gumbo, and Jambalaya

Favorite Shoes: Red Bottoms, Bally Animals, Versace, Gucci, and Nike

If you could be endorsed by any brand, what would it be and why? Nike because I’ll enjoy designing my own shoe and telling a story though the design of the shoe

Favorite Song: “Psycho” – Post Malone (at the moment)

Favorite Artist: I have several favorites but if i had to pick one…. Kevin Gates at the moment

What’s in your playlist right now? Rich Homie Quan’s new album “Rich As In Spirit”, Trilliam 3” – Aha Gazelle, “Get A Load of Me” – 1kphew, “400 Degreez” – Juvenile, and “Ball” – Perry G & Perry G Ball

If you won 10 million dollars, what would you do with it? I’d put my family in the best place possible, put the team on, give away $1,000,000 to the needy, create jobs, start my own production company, and buy land.
